Welcome to the Siamsa Montreal School of Irish Music

Siamsa (pronounced “shee-am-sa”) is Irish for 'pleasant musical diversion'

We offer weekly group classes in traditional Irish music. You can join us for a night of traditional dance during our ceilis, which are held during the fall, winter, and spring. We also play music at informal jam sessions all year round!

It's my party and I will dance if I want to !

It's been 35 years since Brendan and Bernadette Walsh endeavoured to create a place where people could learn to play Irish music. Siamsa was born and the rest is history!

In order to mark the occasion, we will have a special ceili party to end the 2025-2026 school year.

Stay tuned for more details
